Fall Northern Lights Viewing

Join us mid-August through September and view the spectacular Northern Lights over Lac La Martre.

Escape the city and take in the magic of the dancing lights from just outside your cabin door. During the day, enjoy the many activities around the lodge. Fish for pike or lake trout, explore our island trails, paddle a canoe, enjoy a shore lunch of fresh-from-the-lake. Cruise the shorelines with your boat guide in search of local wildlife including bear, moose, caribou, wolves, otters and countless birds! Top this off with an incredible evening of Northern Lights viewing! These magical bright green and purple dancing hues in the sky are known as Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights. Clemy Island hosts Lac La Martre Adventures, the only lodge on beautiful, 1,000 square mile Lac La Martre. We can proudly boast amazing spots for unobstructed Northern Lights viewing without light pollution from the city!

Showcases of the Northern Lights will heighten around the months of Aug- Sept. It the best time and area to amplify your odds of seeing the Northern Lights. Join us for an increased chance to view the Northern Lights.

About Us

We are the only lodge located on beautiful, 1,000 square mile Lac La Martre. The season begins with the Midnight Sun, nearly 24 hours of daylight, and ends with the magic of the Aurora Lights dancing in the night sky.

The Fishing

Our season, which is limited to only 12 weeks, runs from mid-June through mid-September. Because personal service is of utmost importance to the Lac La Martre experience, we take ONLY 18 GUESTS EACH WEEK allowing us to give each and every one of them the fishing experience they've always dreamed of and memories that will last a lifetime.

Fishing Lodge

The Lodge at Lac La Martre is located on an island near the center of the lake, accessible only by floatplane. The camp offers nine very comfortable guest cabins with full bathrooms and heaters for your fly in fishing trip, as well as a main lodge and dining room.
